Common use

Florinef is a glucocorticoid (with ability to retain Na+, excrete K+, and facilitate edema formation) applied to treat low levels of corticosteroid hormones (Addison's disease). Medial use of Florinef consists in treatment of neurally mediated hypotension (condition when blood pressure reduces when standing) and POTS (increased heart rate when standing). Orthostatic hypotension (significant drops in blood pressure) may be caused by the disease itself or may be a side effect of the anti-parkinsonian medications. Florinef also can be used to treat chronic fatigue syndrome.
