Common use
Travatan eye drops are used to treat elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Travoprost, a prostaglandin analogue, works by increasing the outflow of fluid from the eye, thereby lowering pressure and helping prevent optic nerve damage.

Dosage and direction
Apply one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening, or as directed by your doctor. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to maintain sterility.

Precautions
Inform your doctor if you have eye infections, uveitis, or a history of eye surgery. Travatan may cause gradual changes in eye color, especially in patients with mixed-color irises.

Contraindications
Do not use Travatan if you are allergic to Travoprost or any of its components. It is not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly needed and should be used with caution during breastfeeding.

Possible side effect
Common side effects include eye redness, discomfort, blurred vision, or increased eyelash growth. Rare but serious effects may include eye inflammation or allergic reaction.

Drug interaction
Avoid using other eye medications unless prescribed alongside Travatan. Tell your doctor about all eye drops or systemic medications you are currently using.

Missed dose
If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one—do not use two doses at once.

Overdose
Overuse may lead to eye irritation or excessive reduction in eye pressure. In case of accidental ingestion or severe reaction, seek immediate medical help.

Storage
Store Travatan drops at room temperature away from moisture and light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use and out of reach of children.
